My art practice has always been concerned with the ways we are constructed through social customs, histories and normative behaviours, generic nature versus nurture arguments I guess. What interests me most are the formative periods during our childhood and adolescence where we construct large parts of our ideas about who we are, where we live and the fluid rights and wrongs in between.
All things pass into the night is an extension of these thoughts as well as the ideas carried on from previous projects. Through the use of decorative colonial objects, homo-centric signifiers, Freudian concepts (and a little bit of silence of the lambs), the work in this project looks at how we are trapped by the things we desire which then transform themselves into the objects of our fears.
